This presentation was part of the Computational Research and Open Science Community Mentorship Indaba organised by ESCALATOR on 15 April 2021. Presenter: Paul Kennedy (Zindi) The presentation offered a brief introduction to the Zindi Mentorship Programme with specific focus on how mentors and mentees are paired in the programme. The Mentorship Indaba included presentations by eight existing mentorship programmes focusing on five core topics: Programme content/mentee projects Pairing mentors/mentees Mentor recruitment/reward/support Measuring impact Post programme support Programmes that participated in the event included: Open Life Science Zindi Mentorship Programme CORE Africa Research Mentorship Scheme (CARMS) She Code Africa Community Mentorship Project WanaData Deep Learning Indaba Mentorship Programme Open Education for a Better World Online Mentoring Programme ESCALATOR is a programme by the South African Centre for Digital Language Resources (SADiLaR) that aims to support the development of an inclusive and active community of practice in Digital Humanities and Computational Social Sciences in South Africa.
