الوصف: International audience ; A veritable icon in the history of comics, Barbarella is almost usually remembered in France as an comics album published by Éric Losfeld (1964). However, Barbarella had a first life as a serial in an erotic magazine, V Magazine. In addition to the very different spheres of cultural dignity both universes belong to the transition from the pages of a saucy magazine to a luxurious album published by Losfeld is accompanied by a whole series of shifts and editorial interventions that this paper aims to reconstruct. Whereas in the pages of V Magazine Jean-Claude Forest had adopted the codes of episodic narrative and soap opera twists, Losfeld set out to forge, through minimal interventions, an internal coherence to the story. The multiple editions of this story (1964 by Terrain vague, 1968 by Losfeld, 1974 in ‘Livre de poche’, 1984 by Dargaud, 1988 by J'ai Lu, and 2014 by Humanoïdes associés) provide a privileged observatory for exploring the way in which the constraints specific to the media and their appropriation by various players forge the meaning of the works. In addition to the obvious alterations to the nudity, the book formatting (headings, chaptering, colouring, etc.) has led to very different ways of receiving the work. This chapter focuses mainly on the periodical publication and the first two editions of the album, as well as the debates that accompanied them; they allow to examin the debates surrounding the delimitation of an adult readership and the discrimination of a social space for pornography. ; Véritable icône de l’histoire de la bande dessinée, Barbarella est quasi essentiellement signalé comme un album publié chez Éric Losfeld (1964).
