The nuclear HSP10 gene of S. cerevisiae (GenBank accession number X75754) encodes a polypeptide of 106 amino acids with a deduced molecular mass of 11 374 Da (Rospert et al., 1993a; Hohfeld, Hartl, 1994). Hsp10 displays a native mass of about 80 kDa reflecting the assembly of seven subunits to a homo-oligomeric ring structure characteristic of GroES, its homologues (Mande et al., 1996; Hunt etal., 1996). |
