This paper reviews existing urban farms and studies the opportunity to integrateagriculture into the high rise building in city of Bangkok. The consumption behaviors of300 consumers aged between 26-36 years old who work in city of Bangkok are collectedwith questionnaires. The design methodology is applied in two high rise buildings and thepayback period of the farm projects in the proposed buildings are analyzed. The resultshows consumers who have healthy life styles prefer consuming fresh fruits and vegetablestogether with meats but do not like growing plants for consuming by themselves. Two mixedusedresidential buildings with supermarket integrated vegetables farms are designedin two locations of Bangkok. The farm products are found adequate for residences and forselling. The payback period of the agricultural farms are within five years. |
