Using the Saber Pro and Method of Relative Distributions (MDR) scores, this study examines the progression of English proficiency among students in Colombian economics programs over the 2010s. When comparing the distribution of the results at the beginning of the decade (2010-2011) with the end (2019-2020), significant changes were found in the distribution of the results. The results show an increase in the pre-intermediate to pre-advanced performance levels and a decrease in the primary level. Moreover, disparities between official and illegitimate Higher Education Institutions were observed. A strong correlation was established between program accreditation and English score distribution. This article contributes to the literature in three aspects. First, it continues studying the development of English competencies in economics programs in Colombia. Second, this paper is the first to study employing the non-parametric MDR technique, the evolution of the distribution of the results of the English performance levels of the exam without focusing only on one part of the distribution as in previous works. Furthermore, this paper analyzes the evolution of proficiency development during the 2010s. ; Este estudio analiza la evolución de la competencia en inglés de los estudiantes en los programas de economía en Colombia en la década del 2010 empleando los resultados de las pruebas Saber Pro y el Método de Distribuciones Relativas (MDR). Al comparar la distribución de los resultados al inicio de la década (2010-2011) con el final (2019-2020) se encontraron cambios significativos en la distribución de los resultados. Se evidencia un aumento en los niveles de desempeño pre intermedio a pre avanzado y una disminución en el nivel básico. Además, se identificaron diferencias entre las Instituciones de Educación Superior oficiales y no oficiales.
