Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) with bone disease and multiple osteolytic lesions has not been frequently described in children, and is an extremely rare presentation in adults. Although the disease begins in the bone marrow, any other organ can be infiltrated by leukemic cells. Skeletal abnormalities described in association with ALL include: osteoporosis, periosteal reaction, reactive sclerosis, lytic defects and vertebral compression fractures.We present an 18 years old a female patient whose first disease manifestation was multiple osteolytic lesions. The laboratory shows severe anemia, hypercalcemia, acute renal failure and absence of blasts in peripheral blood ; La leucemia linfoblástica aguda (LLA) con afectación ósea y lesiones osteolíticas múltiples ha sido descrita con poca frecuencia en la población pediátrica, siendo una presentación muy rara en adultos. Aunque la LLA es principalmente una enfermedad con origen en la médula ósea, cualquier otro órgano puede ser infiltrado por células leucémicas. Las anomalías esqueléticas descritas en asociación con LLA incluyen: osteoporosis, reacción perióstica, esclerosis reactiva, defectos líticos y fracturas vertebrales por compresión. Se presenta una paciente de 18 años de edad cuyas primeras manifestaciones de la enfermedad fueron lesiones osteolíticas múltiples. Entre los datos de laboratorio se destacan anemia severa, hipercalcemia, insuficiencia renal aguda y ausencia de blastos en sangre periférica. |
