| الوصف: | La résurgence implique un enfouissement préalable au surgissement. Elle semble être liée à la disparition et à l’occultation par une relation de causalité temporelle. Mais par-delà la tension entre la résurgence et l’enfouissement qu’elle suppose, un dialogue et un questionnement s’instaurent dans The Book of Dave : A Revelation of the Recent Past and the Distant Future. Mettant en scène l’acception première du terme, le roman présente un surgissement apocalyptique des eaux lié à une temporalité complexe. Mais ce texte janusien prouve également que la résurgence d’un texte ne peut opérer qu’à demi-mot, l’interprétation se faisant parcellaire dans un roman qui, pourtant, promet la révélation. En effet, le texte que Dave, le protagoniste, enfouit sera retrouvé dans l’avenir et interprété dans un monde dont les signifiés ont disparu laissant derrière eux de cryptiques signifiants. Cette résurgence du sens fait écho à celle de l’hypertextualité : la trace et le palimpseste deviennent des modalités de la résurgence qui bruit à la surface du texte à travers l’effacement. ; Resurgence is a term which implies that a stream courses beneath the surface before it issues from the ground. This concept seems to be linked to the notion of disappearance by a relation of temporal causality. But in The Book of Dave : A Revelation of the Recent Past and the Distant Future a questioning and a dialogue appear beyond the tension between a movement of resurgence and that of coming to the surface. The novel stages the first acceptation of the term when the use of an apocalyptic tidal wave ties in with a complex handling of the temporal dimension. This Janusian novel proves that the resurgence of a text can only occur in veiled terms, thus making interpretation fragmented and incomplete when the novel promises a revelation. Indeed, the text that Dave buried will be found again in the future and interpreted in a world where signifieds have disappear, leaving behind a trail of cryptic signifiers.
