The seven-story apartment building in Emser Straße designed by Sebastian Treese Architekten stands in the vibrant district of Berlin Wilmersdorf. Currently under construction, its dark brick façade is a tribute to the expressionist architecture of early 1920s Berlin found widely in the area. In a world of increasingly industrialized building techniques and disappearing craftsmanship, Sebastian Treese Architekten tries to show that it is possible to combine both worlds. This essay describes the spatial and organizational context of the building and how it was designed to fit into and be part of its neighborhood by considering some of the compositional and material resources involved. ; El edificio de apartamentos de siete alturas diseñado por Sebastian Treese Architekten en Emser Straße se alza en el animado distrito de Wilmersdorf, en Berlín. Actualmente en construcción, su fachada de ladrillo oscuro rinde homenaje a la arquitectura expresionista del Berlín de los primeros años 20, que abunda en esta zona. Pese a que las técnicas de construcción están cada vez más industrializadas y la artesanía prácticamente ha desaparecido, Sebastian Treese Architekten intenta demostrar que es posible combinar ambos mundos. Este artículo describe el contexto espacial y organizativo del edificio y cómo se diseñó para que encajara y formara parte del barrio teniendo en cuenta algunos de los recursos materiales y compositivos utilizados. |
