In this paper we study the "son" style of music of those living on the (Pacific) coast. The purpose is to reveal its role as cultural marker of a cultural region and regional identity in the state of Colima. To do this, we analyze the speech of Colima, using the method of structural analysis of content provided by Hiernaux and Suarez. Attached to the mariachi tradition, the "son" of lowlanders is created and disseminated by a historical region formed by the state of Colima and neighboring areas of Jalisco and Michoacán. We found that the coastal "son" includes two main and integrated themes: 1) love, like love songs of male to coastal female; and 2) the region, its people and customs. We emphasize the following results: the characterization of the coastal landscape; the typical ways of making a living in this zone; the vast humor of the coastal population; the basic actors of love (the man and the woman); the rules of the game of love; and the sayings and ways of acting of the men participating in that relation. ; En el presente artículo estudiamos al son abajeño para revelar su papel de marcador de la región sociocultural y la identidad regional en el estado de Colima. Para ello, analizamos el discurso del son colimense, utilizando el método de análisis estructural de contenido aportado por Hiernaux y Suárez. Unido a la tradición del mariachi, el son abajeño se creó y difundió por una región histórica conformada por el estado de Colima y áreas vecinas de Jalisco y de Michoacán. Encontramos que el son abajeño abarca dos temáticas principales entrelazadas: 1) el amor, como canto amoroso del hombre hacia la mujer costeña; y 2) la región, su gente y sus costumbres. Entre los resultados destaca el reconocimiento de los perfiles del paisaje costeño; los modos habituales de ganarse el sustento en ese ambiente; el vasto humor de la población costeña; los actores básicos del amor (el hombre y la mujer); las reglas del juego del amor; y los dichos y hechos de los hombres participantes en esa relación. |
