Bei der Transformation von einem linearen zu einem kreislauffähigen Wirtschaftssystem spielt die Bauwirtschaft mit über 50 Prozent des Ressourcenverbrauchs in Europa eine Schlüsselrolle. Diese Arbeit befasst sich mit Architekturkreisläufen und zeigt auf wie diese in der Praxis angewandt werden können. Beispielhaft wird ein Entwurf eines Gemeinschaftshauses erarbeitet, welches als Treffpunkt und Tauschmarkt für eine isländische Gemeinschaft fungiert. Die Vision der Gemeinschaft, nach den Grundsätzen einer Kreislaufwirtschaft zu leben, soll mit diesem Tauschzentrum zur Realität werden. Dabei dient dieses Vorzeigeprojekt als Bindeglied zwischen Vergangenheit und Zukunft. Die Struktur wird von traditionellen Gebäudetypologien abgeleitet und durch zukunftsweisende Strategien neu interpretiert. Daraus entsteht ein Gebäude, welches die Elemente Tradition, Landschaft und Licht um das Kernthema Kreislaufwirtschaft vereint. ; With over 50 percent of european resource consumption, the construction industry plays a key role in the transformation from a linear to a circular economic system. This thesis deals with circular economy in architecture and shows how it is put into practice. As an example, a draft of a community house is developed, which functions as a meeting place and swap market for an Icelandic community. The vision of the community to live according to the principles of a circular economy will be enabled with this exchange center. The flagship project serves as a link between the past and the future. The structure is derived from traditional building typologies and reinterpreted through forward-looking strategies.
