The objective is to analyze how Fontanille practical semiotics can assist in the representation of information about cultural artifacts within the scope of the CIDOC Conceptual Reference Model (CRM). A qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory methodology was applied, conducting bibliographic research in which a critical analysis was established. Thus, it is pointed out that conceptual models in knowledge organization include hierarchies and networks, interconnected collections of signs. These structures allow representing the relationship between signs, enabling an understanding of informational resources and their context, which is often delimited as a domain, meaning that a specific concept has a certain effect of meaning, a behavior in accordance with the conception of ways of life. Semiotic understanding also aids in identifying the relevant properties to describe cultural artifacts in the CIDOC CRM. These properties capture specific characteristics of the artifacts, contributing to a deeper understanding of cultural meanings, promoting preservation, and dissemination of knowledge in the field of cultural heritage. ; O objetivo é analisar como a semiótica prática de Fontanille pode auxiliar na representação da informação de artefatos culturais no âmbito do CIDOC Conceptual Reference Model (CRM). Aplicou-se uma metodologia qualitativa, descritiva e exploratória, tratando-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, sob a qual se estabeleceu uma análise crítica. Desse modo, aponta-se que os modelos conceituais na organização do conhecimento incluem hierarquias e redes, coleções interconectadas de signos. Essas estruturas permitem representar a relação entre os signos, possibilitando uma compreensão dos recursos informacionais e seu contexto, o que muitas vezes é delimitado como domínio, ou seja, determinado conceito tem determinado efeito de sentido, uma conduta de acordo com a concepção de formas de vida.
