| الوصف: | Purpose: The aim of the present study was to investigate the diuretic activity of ethanolic extracts and its fractions of Aegle marmelos fruit in experimental models. Ethanolic extracts and its fractions of Aegle marmelos ripe fruit were administered to experimental rats intraperitonealy at doses of 300, 400 and 500 mg/kg i. p. Control group received only normal saline (25ml/kg) through intraperitoneal route. Standard group received Furosemide (100mg/kg). The diuretic effect of the extracts was evaluated by measuring urine volume and sodium content in urine. KEY WORDS Aegle marmelos, diuretic activity |
