In view of new production models in the countryside, this study looks at family farming as a key player in food production in the state of Rondônia, in Brazil. The question that guides the study is: what are the contributions of family farming in Rondônia to food production? Given this question, the general objective of this research is to show how family farming in Rondônia has contributed to the production of food that supplies the population's table. This study is justified because it shows and reinforces how family farming has participated in the construction of healthy food for the population, even in the face of adversity. Furthermore, the research corroborates the literature on the debate, as it strengthens the importance of this category in the face of new dynamics taking place in the countryside and reinforces their identity as true protagonists. The methodological procedures were divided into three stages: bibliographical research, documentary research on the 2017 Agricultural Census and fieldwork on rural properties in Rondônia. The results showed that family farming makes a significant contribution to foodstuffs such as fruit, ground coffee, cheese, manioc and manioc flour, milk and others. The research also revealed that this category has a diversified and plural production of food even in the face of the adversity. ; RESUMEN: Delante de los nuevos modelos productivos en el campo, esta investigación trata de la Agricultura Familiar como protagonista en la producción de alimentos en Rondônia. Como pregunta que guía este estudio nos hacemos la siguiente indagación: ¿cuáles son las contribuciones de la Agricultura Familiar, en Rondônia, en la producción de alimentos?
