Cadherin’ler hücre-hücre ilişkisinde önemli, kalsiyum bağımlı transmembran proteinlerdir. E-cadherin’ler ise epitelyal hücrelerde eksprese edilen bir subgruptur. E-cadherin ekspresyonu kaybolan hücrelerin davranışı anormalleşir. Biz bu çalışmada hepatitis B zemininde gelişen hepatosellüler kanserde e-cadherin ekspresyonunu araştırdık. Elde ettiğimiz sonuçları normal, kronik hepatit B ve hepatit B sirozu ile karşılaştırdık. Çalışma kapsamına, 5 normal, 15 kronik B hepatiti, 8 hepatit B sirozu ve 8 hepatit B zemininde gelişmiş hepatosellüler kansere ait doku örnekleri alındı. Doku kesitlerine e-cadherin, streptavidin-biotin-alkalen fosfataz immünohistokimya yöntemiyle boyandı. E-cadherin ekspresyonu, % 10’dan az (+), % 10-50 (++), % 50-90 (+++), % 90’in üstü (++++) olmak üzere, hepatositlerin boyanma oranlarina göre semikantitatif olarak değerlendirildi. Normal karaciğer dokusunda hepatositlerin ve bilier epitel hücrelerinin % 90’nında E-cadherin ekspresyonu görüldü. Kanserli olgularda e-cadherin ekspresyonu normal, kronik hepatit ve siroza göre anlamlı oranda azalmış bulundu (p<0.05). Çalışmamız E-cadherin ekspresyonundaki azalmanın hepatosellüler karsinom patogenezinde proliferasyon artışına neden olarak etkili olabileceğini düşündürmektedir. ; Cadherins are calcium dependent transmembrane proteins, which play an important role in cell to cell interaction. E-cadherins are subgroups of cadherins which are expressed in epithelial cells. A decrease in E-cadherin expression may cause abnormal behavior. We investigated E-cadherin expression in hepatitis B virus related hepatocellular carcinoma and compared this expression with normal, chronic hepatitis B and hepatitis B related cirrhosis. Five normal, 15 chronic hepatitis B, eight hepatitis B cirrhosis and eight hepatitis B related hepatocellular carcinoma tissue samples were included in this study.
