الوصف: Improvements in microprocessor fabrication have allowed a large number of architectural advances aimed at improving performance, mainly through the addition of multiple functional units which attempt to execute many instructions in parallel. These attempts to extract more parallelism from code have been successful, but have met with diminishing returns as more functional units are added.
