الوصف: This study investigates the influence of social appropriation of knowledge in the field of scientific vocation of students in the Department of Cauca, Colombia, focusing specifically on the rural context of the municipalities of Buenos Aires, Silvia, Rosas, and Morales - Cauca. Through a qualitative methodological design, where focus groups, body mapping and semi-structured interviews were developed, developed through an active dialogue with the community. semi-structured interviews, the perceptions, opinions, and behaviors of students from rural areas regarding access, use and dissemination of scientific knowledge in their community are examined. The findings reveal the predominant influences of students towards science in rural environments, as well as the factors that influence their willingness to participate in Social Appropriation of Knowledge. The results of this study have important implications for the development of educational strategies and policies that promote greater inclusion and participation in science in rural areas. In addition to the identification of key factors for strengthening the scientific vocation in this type of population. This study analyzes the impact of social appropriation of knowledge on the development of scientific vocation among students in the Department of Cauca, Colombia.
