| الوصف: | The residential area Novy Svet in Grodno today is one of the original, partially preserved districts of the city, which presents a stylistically complete and diverse urban residential development of the late 19th - early 20th century. Despite the architectural and artistic value of the buildings of the district, as well as the call of historians and local history experts to preserve the most valuable buildings, there is a threat of destruction of individual objects. Difficulties in preserving the district are related to the ambiguous attitude toward the buildings of the period under consideration, including the objects of wooden architecture. The object of this work is the Novy Svet district in Grodno. The subject of this work is the historical and cultural potential of the district as an object of protection as an immovable historical and cultural value. The main purpose of the bachelor thesis is to determine and evaluate the historical, cultural, architectural and urban qualities of the Novy Svet district, its cultural and information potential and promising areas of conservation and use. To achieve this purpose, the following goals have been set and solved: 1. determine the source base, systematize and generalize the available information on the history and development of the Novy Svet district in Grodno; 2. to assess the historical and cultural qualities of the district; 3. summarize the practice of district protection; 4. identify possible way of conservation and use of the district Novy Svet as a historical and cultural value. General scientific methods were used to write a bachelor thesis, including analysis, comparison, systematization and generalization, as well as field studies and consultations with specialists. The Novy Svet district is interesting in its architecture. It is closely connected with the history of Grodno and the activities of outstanding people who took part in the life of the city.
