The influence of scientific developments on behavior has steadily grown in the field of public administration and governments in recent decades. Following the pioneering experience of the Behavioral Insights Team in the United Kingdom, various organizations with similar characteristics have been created in numerous countries around the world. These “nudge units” focus on implementing rapid and cost-effective interventions, taking into consideration the available empirical evidence on how people effectively decide and act. This article narrates the birth of the Unit of Behavioral Sciences and Public Policies in Argentina in 2021 and how its emergence and development relate to other experiences worldwide. The main activities carried out by the Unit are detailed, and a discussion analyzes the achievements and limitations of the experience, the barriers encountered, and recommendations to be considered in future similar developments. ; La influencia de los desarrollos científicos sobre el comportamiento creció en el campo de la administración pública y los gobiernos en las últimas décadas. A partir de la experiencia pionera del Behavioral Insights Team en el Reino Unido, diversos organismos con similares características han sido creados en numerosos países. El énfasis de los instrumentos desarrollados por las llamadas "nudge units" se centra en realizar intervenciones rápidas y costo efectivas, tomando en consideración la evidencia empírica disponible sobre el modo en que efectivamente deciden y actúan las personas. El presente artículo narra el nacimiento de la Unidad de Ciencias del Comportamiento y Políticas Públicas en la República Argentina en el año 2021 y el modo en que su surgimiento y desarrollo se relacionan con otras experiencias a nivel mundial. Se detallan las principales actividades, logros y limitaciones de la experiencia, las barreras encontradas y las recomendaciones para futuros desarrollos similares. |
