| الوصف: | Deleitando enseña. This expression coined by the emblemist Diego Saavedra Fajardo perfectly summarizes the pedagogical desire of this literary genre that emerged in Augsburg in 1531 thanks to Andrea Alciato's Emblematum Liber. In Andalusia, emblematic literature made an appearance thanks to two Jesuit authors: Juan Francisco Villava from Jaén and his work Empresas espirituales y morales (Baeza, 1613) and Sevillian Lorenzo Ortiz, with his book Memory, Understanding and Will (Seville, 1677). Until now, studies on Andalusian emblematic literature proposed Villava as the only emblemist, however, it is my intention to include Ortiz in this repertoire as a full-fledgedauthor. ; Deleitando enseña. Esta expresión acuñada por el emblemista Diego Saavedra Fajardo resume a la perfección el afán pedagógico de este género literario surgido en Augsburgo en 1531 gracias al Emblematum Liber de Andrea Alciato. En Andalucía la literatura emblemática hizo acto de presencia gracias a dos autores jesuitas: el jienense Juan Francisco Villava y su obra Empresas espirituales y morales (Baeza, 1613) y el sevillano Lorenzo Ortiz, con su libro Memoria, Entendimiento y Voluntad (Sevilla, 1677). Hasta el momento los estudios sobre literatura emblemática andaluza proponían como único emblemista a Villava, sin embargo, es mi propósito incluir en este repertorio a Ortiz como autor deplenoderecho. |
