Cet article interroge la prise en compte de la dimension sérielle de l’habitat de la seconde moitié du XXe siècle dans les processus de patrimonialisation institutionnelle et sociale, à partir de l’habitat évolutif horizontal de Candilis, Josic et Woods et notamment, la cité des Mûriers à Toulouse, labellisée « Patrimoine du XXe siècle » en 2016. La cité est la synthèse de la double recherche de ses architectes sur l’évolutivité du logement et sur un habitat méditerranéen dans laquelle s’inscrit une série de projets caractérisés par l’agglomération de maisons compactes et le développement de l’espace habité autour de patios. Dans quelle mesure la sérialité amenée par la paternité de l’œuvre et la sérialité inhérente au projet questionnent-elles le processus de patrimonialisation ? Sont mobilisés, les archives de la cité des Mûriers et des autres projets de l’équipe Candilis ainsi que des entretiens menés avec les habitants et les services de la conservation des Monuments historiques. ; This article examines how the serial factor in housing was taken into account in the processes of institutional and social heritage recognition in the second half of the 20th century, based on the evolving horizontal housing of Candilis, Josic and Woods, and in particular the cité des Muriers in Toulouse which was awarded the "Patrimoine du XXe siècle" label in 2016. The housing estate is the synthesis of its architects' twofold research on the versatility of housing and on Mediterranean habitats, which included a series of projects characterised by the combination of compact houses and the development of living spaces around patios.
