الوصف: | The mineralogy, petrography and geochemistry of the alteration zones in the volcanic and metamorphic rocks in the west of Şuhut district (Afyonkarahisar) were investigated in this study. Paleozoic aged metamorphic rocks form the basis of the study area. Middle Miocene volcano-sedimentary and volcanic rocks overlie the basement rocks. The altered rocks were sampling for determining the mineralogical-petrographical and geochemical properties. It was determined that all samples except M-10 exhibit trachyandesitic composition on the total alkali-silica (TAS) diagram. According to the discrimination diagrams of Çaltepe dolomite and their alteration products, M-15 ve M-19 were plotted in dolomite-limestone transition zone, M-13, M-14, M-17 and M-20 also show dolomitic composition. In the rare earth element graph of the volcanic rock samples normalized to chondrite, light rare earth elements (HREE) were enriched, while intermediate (ONTE) and heavy rare earth elements (ANTE) were lost. The increase in Ni, Cu, Pb, and Zn concentrations up to 50 times in M-11 and M-25 compared to the parent rock indicates the effect of hydrothermal alteration. Maximum SiO2 enrichment and P2O5 loss occurred based on the normalized main element contents of fresh/less weathered dolomites. According to the normalized trace element changes with respect to the hostrock, U and Zr lost maximum, on the other hand Rb, Sr and Co enriched the most. As a result of the alteration of the dolomites, Light Rare Earth Elements (LREE) are more mobilize than Heavy Rare Earth Elements (HREE). ; Bu çalışmada, Şuhut ilçesi (Afyonkarahisar) batısındaki volkanik ve metamorfik kayaçlardaki alterasyon zonlarının mineraloji, petrografisi ve jeokimyası araştırılmıştır.
