Grief represents an emotional and psychological experience that a person experiences due to the loss of a loved one, the confrontation requires the cognitive and behavioral processes used to manage external or internal demands, involves a set of responses aimed at reducing the aversive qualities of a stressful situation. The aim of the present research was to systematize the information of the process of mourning and confrontation in relatives of suicide persons, corresponding to a documentary and bibliographic research of a descriptive type. The sample was selected by means of an intentional non-probability sampling, 44 publications were selected in bases such as Scielo, Google Scholar, Scopus, ResearchGate, Dialnet, Pub Med, Semantic Reader, Weley Online Library, Taylor & Francis Online, ELSEVIER. Bibliographic review was used as a technique and as a tool for bibliographic and matrix review. (CRF-QS). Among the main findings were identified negative cognitive and emotional effects such as feelings of despair, anxiety, anguish, deep sadness, depression, fear, recurring nightmares, social isolation, sensations of unreality, and a constant search for explanations, affecting at the level, individual, social and family, while dealing strategies range from avoidance, problem-solving, search for social support, emotional self-regulation and cognitional reassessment. In conclusion, the process of mourning of the relatives of suicidal people includes challenges, emotions, behaviors that each individual experiences, in this way it is important to develop healthy dealing strategies to find hope, strength towards the reconstruction of their lives.
