| الوصف: | Nominalizations have mainly been studied from a theoretical point of view and consequently, elaborate corpus studies on this category are hard to find. Moreover, apart from some recent interest in psychological nouns, literature has generally focused on prototypical instances, i.e. deverbal nominalizations derived from verbs with an agentive subject (e.g. construction, translation). This paper fills up these gaps by examining the aspectual behaviour of a fairly neglected class, namely perception nominals in Spanish (e.g. vista, mirada, escucha). Corpus data of different nature are used to show that the aspectual complexity of these nominals is comparable to the heterogeneity of the related class of perception verbs. |
