This research is motivated by the large number of MSME actors in Kuantan Tengah District with the majority of the community being Muslim. Furthermore, BMT does not yet exist in Kuantan Tengah District. This study aims to determine the Potential and Constraints of Establishing a BMT in Kuantan Tengah District. The population in this study was the people of Central Kuantan District, which amounted to 49,286 people, using the slovin formula, the researchers only took 44 people as samples. Furthermore, the data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. And the data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively by using SWOT analysis. The results of this study can be concluded that the potential for establishing BMTs in Kuantan Tengah District has the most micro-enterprises in Kuantan Tengah District, the majority of which are Muslims, then there are job opportunities for the people of Kuantan Tengah District, there are quite a number of Islamic educational institutions in Kuantan Tengah District. there is a need for capital for MSME actors who still lack capital in running their business, there is openness and support from the community who already know about BMT, and BMT has not yet been established in Kuantan Tengah District. Meanwhile, the obstacles to establishing a BMT in Kuantan Tengah District are that BMT is not yet popular among the public, the capital owned by BMT is still limited, then the system and procedures that regulate it are not standardized because BMT is still a cooperative legal entity, as well as the existence of competing financial institutions such as banking both conventional and sharia and cooperatives under the guise of moneylenders, and the lack of a sense of community responsibility in the process of paying installments of financing.
