| الوصف: | The Dobbs decision marked a turning point in the legal and political landscape of reproductive healthcare in the United States, dismantling nearly half a century of federally protected abortion and privacy rights. This thesis examines the state of first trimester care in post-Dobbs America, focusing on how legal and political changes have disrupted the availability and quality of early pregnancy care, particularly early pregnancy loss. Using the Diffusion of Innovations Theory as a framework, this analysis explores the rapid adoption of restrictive abortion laws, the varied responses across state healthcare systems, and the cascading effects on emergency medical treatment standards, particularly under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA). Through an in-depth case study of EMTALA challenges, this work highlights the evolving intersections of healthcare, law, and politics, emphasizing the critical need for equitable and accessible prenatal care amidst unprecedented legal uncertainty.
