This article argues the adequacy of the case studies as an optimal method of analysis of school culture and its transformations, with special attention to school practices in the particular context in which they make sense. This suitability is illustrated with a case study carried out from the 2015/16 academic year to 2018/19 in a Secondary school in Tenerife, showing how the challenge of its high multiculturalism has influenced the transformation of its culture school. In order to do this, the process followed is presented: the selection of the case and its contextualization, the construction of research questions, the negotiation with the school for the collection of information, the elaboration of its units (students; educational responses and transformations of the school culture) and categories of analysis and the interpretation of the results. The educational responses show the transformation of the school towards a more intercultural and participative school culture, where care relations are highlighted. In this way, case studies are stated as a suitable method for an authentic evaluation of the processes of construction and change of school cultures from the perspective of their protagonists. ; Este artigo apresenta o estudo de caso como um método ideal para a análise da cultura escolar e suas transformações, com especial atenção às práticas escolares no contexto particular em que elas fazem sentido. Esta adequação é ilustrada com um estudo de caso realizado de 2015/16 a 2018/19 em uma escola secundária de Tenerife, mostrando como o desafio de sua alta multiculturalidade influenciou a transformação de sua cultura escolar.
