Objective: to describe the perception of the implementation of Law No. 21,030 in the multidisciplinary team of the maternity area of a Hospital in the Region of La Araucanía, Chile. Material and methods: descriptive study with qualitative design and a phenomenological approach. 10 semi-structured interviews were carried out belonging to the Maternity Area of a Hospital in the Region of La Araucanía, Chile. The data were processed through a narrative analysis. Results: the results are grouped into three dimensions: Individual perception regarding abortion, Initial implementation process of Law No. 21,030 in the Hospital and current general aspects established by the Ministry of Health (MINSAL) in a Hospital in the Region of Araucanía. Health professionals share the idea that this Law was necessary to protect one of the areas of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). However, they agree that a conservative culture predominates in Chile that prevents total abortion legislation. During the implementation, misinformation, disinterest and personal apprehensions predominated, generating access barriers. For conscientious objection (CO), they agree that it is necessary to define limits more clearly. Conclusion: the health team of the Maternity Area shares the perception that at first the implementation of this Law was difficult in the establishment, however, there has been progress associated with the incorporation of more sensitized professionals in the area. ; Objetivo: describir la percepción sobre la implementación de la Ley N°21.030 en el equipo multidisciplinario del área de maternidad de un hospital de la Región de La Araucanía, Chile.
