الوصف: |
The purpose of this research was to ascertain whether a significantly disproportionate number of general aviation fatal aircraft accidents occur at night. The percentage of all fatal accidents that occur at night, collected over a ten year span, were compared to the percentage of hours flown at night. Research determined that there is a significantly disproportionate number of night fatal accidents. An additional area examined was whether a significantly larger proportion of night (versus day) fatal accidents had inflight encounter with weather as the first occurrence (the first of any number of occurrences or events which contribute to an accident) . The study resolved that a significantly higher percentage of night accidents have inflight encounter with weather as the first occurrence. ; Master's thesis. |
