The differential cross section was measured for $pi$$sup -$p $Yields$ p$pi$$sup -$ near the backward direction for incident laboratory momenta between 3.0 and 5.5 GeV/c. Preliminary results are reported at cos theta* approximately - 0.96. Evidence is seen for $delta$(2850) and $delta$(3230); however, no evidence was found for the narrow resonance at P/sub lab/ approximately 5.12 GeV/c reported by Kormanyos et al. (auth) |
