الوصف: In recent years, there has been a notable surge in the visibility of biobased polymers, reflecting a growing interest in sustainable alternatives to petrochemical-derived materials. Despite this increased prominence, biobased polymers still face challenges in establishing themselves as competitive counterparts, primarily due to limitations in their physical properties. To address this, approaches such as stereocomplexation of poly (lactic acid) (PLA) have emerged as effective strategies for enhancing material properties, particularly for high-performance applications. Additionally, 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA) has garnered significant attention as a promising biobased monomer, owing to its aromaticity and potential for synthesizing advanced biobased materials with superior characteristics. Moreover, the incorporation of isohexides into polyesters has shown promise, offering the potential to enhance structural rigidity, elevate the glass transition temperature, and provide versatile functionalization sites through their hydroxyl groups. This review explores the advancements related to the synthesis of biobased polyesters based on lactic acid, furans and isohexide moieties, underscoring significant strides in biobased polymer science and engineering.
