Teenagers have turned into the main consumers of audiovisual productions often dubbed in their mother tongue. For that reason, the present study provides a general perspective of the characteristics of teen audiovisual productions and the translation strategies used during the 21st century, with a focus on the analysis of American teen music productions, whose music content is crucial for both the plot and characters. Teen spectators, who are going through certain stages of developmentand changes, need to be understood and, therefore, seek comfort in their screens. For that reason, not only the translation of dialogue exchanges, but also song translation is essential in the proper development of one of the most challenging groups of the current population. ; El público adolescente español consume diariamente producciones audiovisuales extranjeras frecuentemente dobladas a su lengua materna. Por ello, el presente estudio aporta una perspectiva general de las características de producciones audiovisuales juveniles y las estrategias de traducción llevadas a cabo durante el siglo xxi, centrando el estudio en películas para adolescentes cuyo contenido musical es parte intrínseca tanto de los personajes como de la trama. Los espectadores adolescentes, inmersos en una etapa de cambios, necesitan ser comprendidos y buscan refugio en la pantalla. Por ello, no solo la traducción de los diálogos, sino también la traducción de canciones, son clave en el correcto desarrollo de uno de los grupos de la población más exigentes. |
