الوصف: Engineering of Sport 15 - Proceedings from the 15th International Conference on the Engineering of Sport (ISEA 2024) Artistic Swimming (AS) is an Olympic discipline for female athletes, including solo (Only in the World Cup), duet, and eight-member team competitions. AS combines swimming, dance, and gymnastics with the team’s chosen music, demanding precise synchronization in positions, figures, and transitions. Athletes execute five to eleven elements, with key skills including body rotation, extensions, and vertical thrust. A jury awards a total score of 10 points, considering difficulty, execution, choreography, and presentation, with penalties referring amount of deviations angle to any departure from each prescribed movement. This study analyzes athleticism and joint freedom during the Ballet Leg Single technique, focusing on aligning the extended leg horizontally with the head, shoulders, hip joints, and ankle, forming a 90° angle with the water's surface and a leg. This study employs body pose estimation through the MediaPipe framework library in the Python programming language (Version 3.8) as a marker-less computer vision tool. MediaPipe, a machine learning tool, detects thirty-three key points representing landmarks on human bodies in images or videos. The objective is to compare and analyze swimmers' routines in both higher performance levels, utilizing MediaPipe for underwater movement analysis in the ballet leg technique, with a focus on shoulder, hip, and knee positioning. To enhance reliability, an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) is used, providing an additional layer of credibility to the findings.
