This text proposes a new interpretation for the description made by Tacitus (Ann. 2.60-61) of the journey through Egypt by Germanicus (19 CE). The author establishes parallels of this text with Herodotus’ Histories looking for a theoretical intention in it. Tacitus uses this Egyptian episode to express ideas about methods and possibilities of reaching certainties by a historical discourse. ; El texto propone una nueva interpretación para la descripción que realiza Tácito (Ann. 2.60-61) del viaje por Egipto de Germánico (19 d. C.). El autor establece paralelos de este texto con las Historias de Heródoto para definir una intención teórica en el mismo. Tácito utiliza este episodio egipcio para reflexionar sobre los métodos y las posibilidades de alcanzar certezas por medio del discurso histórico. |
