الوصف: Fungal phytopathogens cause serious diseases in leguminous crops that lead to significant losses to the economy of Uzbekistan. Identification and understanding their distribution pattern can help to prevent crop diseases and significant yield losses. The main goal of this study is isolation, morphological identification and pathogenicity testing of fungi associated with leguminous crops in Uzbekistan. In the present investigation, fungi of four legumes (Vigna radiata, Cicer arietinum, Phaseolus vulgaris and Glycine max) were screened for their pathogenic properties. As a result of mycological investigation of 144 plant segments, sampled from field survey, 90 saprotrophic and phytopathogenic fungal strains belonged to 17 species from 11 genera were isolated and had the following distribution: Fusarium solani - 12%, Fusarium spp. - 10%, Aspergillus niger - 9% Alternaria alternata - 9%, Fusarium culmorum - 8%, Fusarium oxysporum - 8%, Ascochyta rabiei - 6%, Alternaria sp. - 7%, Penicillium sp. - 5%, Mucor sp. - 4%, Cercospora kikuchii - 4%, Colletotrichum truncatum - 3%, F. gibbosum - 6%, Botrytis cinerea - 2%, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum - 3%, Diaporthe phaseolorum - 2% and F. heterosporum - 2%. Fourteen species from 7 genera were found to be phytopathogenic. For the first time in Uzbekistan, phytopathogenic fungal strains of Diaporthe phaseolorum, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, Cercospora kikuchii were isolated from leguminous crops. The pathogenic fungal isolates obtained in this study can be used to facilitate the development of the effective integrated management of leguminous crops diseases in Uzbekistan.
