The aim of this study was to compare personality profiles between two populations of students from Timisoara, Romania and Chisinau, Republic of Moldova. The study was performed on two samples of students at Medicine in the 2nd year of study: 172 stu-dents from Timisoara 72.67% male, 27.33% female, aged 19-22 years, and 418 from Chis-inau 75.84% girls and 24.16 boys, aged 19-22 years. The study conducted was a cross sec-tional one and it consisted in applying a Freiburg Personality Inventory FPI 212 items, Cronbach`s alpha; index 0.753 for Timisoara and 0.695 for Chisinau samples. Individual FPI pro-files 12 personality traits with 9 ranks of intensity were built using an Excel 2003 Program. FPI profiles median of the samples indicated the same level of intensity in both samples for 6 personality traits Aggressiveness, Sociability, Calm, Sincerity, Extraversion, Masculinity and different levels for the other 6 Nervousness rank 7, Depression, Excitability, Domination, In-hibition, Emotional lability. Personality profiles of female-students were similar with person-ality profiles of entire samples except Depression in Timisoara, and Calm in Chisinau. Per-sonality profiles of students aged 20 years were similar with personality profiles of entire sam-ple except Domination in Timisoara. Only Nervousness rank 7 was outside etalon interval ranks 4-6 in the Chisinau sample and it was higher than in the Timisoara sample with 1 rank for all personality profiles. In conclusion personality profiles of both samples presented equally similarities and differences and are specific for female-students aged 20 years in the 2nd year of Medicine school. |
