| الوصف: | The ecosystems of the Zambezi River Basin in Mozambique provide various services and play a key role in regulating floods. The present study devotes some attention to the Marromeu Complex and the geology that sustains its ecosystems on the right bank of the river. Two groups of retention devices and river flow, influencing the flood regimes, were identified. Alveolar devices prevail in the altitude range, 75 to 42 m, with a global water storage of 800 000 m3 /km2 . Polygonal devices predominate at lower elevations, 5 to 2 m, with a global storage of 400 000 m3 /km2 . The preservation and conservation of these devices and the areas in which they proliferate are essential to regulate the pre-delta flow in flood regimes. |
