L’objet de cette étude est de présenter comment s’est évolue la fécondité en Algérie au cours de cinq dernières décennies. Après avoir précisé en introduction les objectifs et les concepts de l’étude ainsi que les sources de données, nous proposerons une description synthétique de la transition de la fécondité, à la lumière de nombreux documents statistiques et de rapports d’enquêtes ,nous expliquerons ensuite les liens entre la fécondité et ses déterminants pour mieux comprendre le comportement procréateur des femmes algériennes. Ces approches- nous ont permis, de dégager les tendances de la fécondité et de mettre en évidence ses différentiels selon certaines caractéristiques : le niveau d’instruction et la strate de résidence ; The purpose of this study is to present how fertility has evolved in Algeria over the past five decades. After specifying in the introduction the objectives and concepts of the study as well as the data sources, we will propose a synthetic description of the fertility transition, in the light of numerous statistical documents and survey reports, we will then explain the links between fertility and its determinants to better understand the reproductive behavior of Algerian women. These approaches have enabled us to identify fertility trends and highlight its differentials according to certain characteristics: level of education and stratum of residence. |
