الوصف: Education at all levels is passing through transformations that impact teaching methods and materials as well as the physical learning environment. Efforts have been made to align school architecture with the recent trends in education and support the learning process with appropriate and stimulating environments. This study analyzed Evidence Based Design (EBD) information related to school buildings with particular attention to middle schools through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Gained knowledge was transformed into architectural design patterns and their graphical representations. This research's product is a tool to support the school design process through patterns tested with architecture course students. The research is part of a continuous investigation of design methods and contemporary school architecture. The collection and organization of new knowledge should positively support the design process with scientific information, translated into an insightful and clear textual and graphical language to stimulate the design of school buildings appropriate to their context and create a positive and productive learning environment.
