| الوصف: | Introduction: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by atypical development, behavioral manifestations, difficulties in communication and social interaction, and repetitive patterns, as well as a restricted interest in specific activities. Objective: To analyze, through scientific bases, the difficulties encountered by parents and caregivers for the development of autistic children. Methodology: Integrative literature review research with a qualitative approach. Results: Nursing care is essential in the follow-up of the patient with ASD throughout the diagnosis and treatment process. The relationship between the nurse and the autistic patient is essential, since in most cases there will be difficulty of expression on the part of the patient, and it is up to the professional to have an attentive look, listening and providing qualified care. Through guidance given to family members about autism, creation of therapeutic plans that aim at the particularity of each child or patient, a better quality of life is provided to all who are involved in their creation and coexistence. Conclusion: In view of the above, although the difficulties are undeniable, it is also important to recognize that, with adequate support, these children can achieve significant milestones in their development. As society becomes more aware and inclusive, the hope is that the future will bring even greater opportunities for autistic children and their caregivers. ; Introdução: O Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) é uma condição de desenvolvimento neurológico caracterizada por um desenvolvimento atípico, manifestações comportamentais, dificuldades na comunicação e interação social, e padrões repetitivos, além de um interesse restrito em atividades específicas.
