Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (Isis) caused a disastrous collision in the region. Now Isis is destroyed especially in Iraq as the military forces along-with coalition forces successfully counteracted against their insurgency. This paper discussed the origins, agenda and resurgence possibilities of Daesh in Iraq. By keeping in view the efforts made by the Iraqi army and confederates, this study assumed that government and military officials need to take actions against any potential resurgence in future. After US military withdrawal from Syria, the Iraqi government are concerned about security and control of the region. Therefore, it is suggested that sustained local action can help to fight against post-Isis activities. Additionally, Iraq and Syria should also alleviate internal conflicts so that Isis may not get any probability to return. |
