| الوصف: | This paper aims primarily to analyse what translators do when transferring the names of grape varieties into French from Spanish and into Spanish from French, which involves other secondary objectives. The starting point is a corpus of translated treatises on ampelography from 1490 to 1807. The compilation of the treatises has been done following documentary research by means of on-line and on-site research in historical collections in different centres and libraries. Then, grape varieties’ names have been identified and extracted from the corpus. To evaluate and construe the translations of these, qualitative and analytical-contrastive methods have been implemented. The results show that, of the 18 treatises on ampelography collected in Spanish and French, only two have been translated. This low rate of translations (11,1 % of the total number of treatises) is due to the local character of the grape varieties. In view of the results and after specifying the translation techniques identified in our contrastive analysis, we can conclude that the translators are unaware of the special status of the names of grape varieties and follow different and lax criteria in their translation. ; El objetivo principal de este trabajo es analizar cómo proceden los traductores al verter los nombres de las variedades de vid al francés desde el español y al español desde el francés. Esto implica otros objetivos secundarios. En primer lugar, compilar un corpus de tratados sobre ampelografía traducidos comprendidos entre 1490 y 1807, para cuya compilación nos hemos servido de la investigación documental mediante la búsqueda telemática e in situ en fondos históricos de diferentes centros y bibliotecas. Y, en segundo lugar, identificar y extraer los nombres de las variedades de vid de dicho corpus. Tras lo cual, procedimos a evaluar e interpretar sus traducciones siguiendo la metodología cualitativa y la analítica-contrastiva.
