El saneamiento de las viviendas, calles, zocos, baños y mezquitas, junto con la gestión de los residuos industriales, fueron factores muy tenidos en cuenta en la medina andalusí, y es que mantener una buena salud y mejorar el bienestar de la comunidad interesó tanto a las autoridades como a los particulares. De este modo, los núcleos urbanos se fueron dotando de instalaciones que asegurasen unas condiciones higiénicas mínimas. En este sentido, las intervenciones arqueológicas realizadas en las últimas décadas en el yacimiento cordobés ofrecen un marco excepcional para conocer de cerca algunas de estas estructuras y la sociedad que las generó. En el siguiente trabajo expondremos los ejemplos más significativos, especialmente los hallados en los arrabales occidentales de la Córdoba califal. ; The sanitation of dwellings, streets, souks, bath houses and mosques, along with the management of industrial waste, were seriously taken into account in the madina of al-Andalus, since maintaining good health and improving the welfare of the community interested both authorities and individuals. Thus, urban settlements were equipped with suitable structures to provide minimum hygienic conditions. In this sense, the archaeological excavations carried out in last decades in Cordoba offer an exceptional framework to know closely some of these structures and the society who created them. In the following work we will present the most significant examples, especially those that belonged to the western suburbs of the caliphal Cordoba. |
