الوصف: | Introduction: The reflective portfolio (RP) is an educational assessment tool that professors could use to allow students the opportunity to give free expression to their creativity as they build up a material that will let them alternate between their own universe and the theories or concepts. Objective: to analyze how the RP implementation process is taking place, as an educational assessment tool, on a Health Bachelor Degree and Teaching Diploma Program at a public university in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Such a program yields registered nurses for health services, who are also teachers at secondary level vocational nursing schools. Methodology: the researchers conducted qualitative research using both the document analysis approach on the program’s Political Pedagogical Project (PPP) and the focus groups approach with some of the last year's students in the program. Then they performed the data analysis through Bardin’s (2016) content analysis procedures in a thematic analysis. Three thematic categories emerged. Conclusions: We assumed that the RP could greatly intensify students’ emancipatory learning. However, we found that its application is only effective as long as certain institutional processes occur, such as professor improving processes, teamwork, and solid working conditions that encourage investments in undergraduate education by creating an educational project derived from the critical thinking approach, as opposed to the productivism, and that support the social transformation perspective ; El portafólio reflexivo (PR) es uno de los instrumentos que puede ser utilizado en la evaluación formativa como una herramienta por la cual el alumno tiene posibilidad de dar visión a su creatividad y construir un material que permitirá un tránsito entre su universo y la teoría/contenidos.
