| الوصف: | The paper provides some short remarks on the evolution of rail infrastructure investments in Europe. After a brief overview of the strategic role of railways for the decarbonisation of the transport sector and of the unprecedented public and private financial support currently enjoyed by rail investments in Europe (second paragraph), the paper focuses on the major objectives of railway investments (third paragraph) and on three fundamental enablers, namely the capacity of defining and agreeing upon a long-term strategic vision for the transport system, the spread of a mature and conscious approach to innovation and the quality of the investment governance system (fourth paragraph). |
