| الوصف: | Encouraged by a professional staff found in an academic internship, the present paper has the wide objective analyze the functions of the Social Work at the Public Defender of the State of Rio Grande do Norte and, specifically, its social repercussions with the Nucleus for Extrajudicial Treatment of Conflicts (NUTEC). The research methodology consisted of a bibliographic reviewing on the central themes of the research; collecting documentary data; and observation. As result, the research reached the social impact promoted by the removal of the low-income population from litigation in the Judiciary; and turned to the role of the social worker in this scenario, in a context of multidisciplinary conflict resolution. To the conclusions, the paper will concentrate answers found throughout the topics, centered on the role of the social worker in a multidisciplinary context of extrajudicial conflict resolution and, beyond, on the effects of exercising that role, an activity of the social worker inserted in a multidisciplinary assistance body judiciary to serve the legally hyposufficient and, mainly, the defense of the hyposufficient’s rights in the administrative scope with targeting to the nonjudicialization of this action. ; Encorajada por um quadro profissional encontrado num estágio acadêmico, o presente estudo tem como objetivo geral analisar as funções do Serviço Social junto à Defensoria Pública do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte e, em específico, suas repercussões sociais junto ao Núcleo de Tratamento Extrajudicial de Conflitos (NUTEC). A metodologia da pesquisa consistiu na revisão bibliográfica sobre os temas centrais do estudo; coleta de dados documentais; e observação. Como resultado, a pesquisa auferiu sobre o impacto social promovido pelo afastamento da população hipossuficiente da litigiosidade do Judiciário; e voltou-se para o papel do assistente social nesse cenário, num contexto de solução multidisciplinar de conflitos.
