| الوصف: | The paper presents the results of an empirical study into Russian people’s attitude towards digitization, which was conducted by the Institute of Fundamental and Applied Studies at Moscow University for the Humanities in October-November 2019. The study revealed, in particular, that digitization is more acceptable in younger age groups. In the capital and big cities, positive attitude towards the use of digital technologies is more evident than in small towns. However, even there the positive attitude towards digitization is not total or anticipated in the future and spans two thirds of the respondents, given that from 36-40 years of age the positive attitude declines. 36.6 per cent of the respondents under 20 years old consider that digitization will not help to escape from natural disasters, wars and their consequences, and we must not rely on its all-embracing power.The paper is based on the report at the plenary session of the 15th International Scientific Conference “Higher Education for the 21st Century.
