This research aims to be a base for a future preliminary project of a maternal and child center in conjunction with Hospital Nossa Senhora da Conceição, in Tubarão – SC, a reference in high risk management. By reviewing the records in a hospital in Tubarão and region, a high degree of births per birth is observed, above the recommended by OMS. The future Maternal and Child Center has a humanized proposal, welcoming and helping the population through a conscious and individualized choice, as for the adequate birth path, decreasing the rates of hospitalization of RN in neonatal ICU, cancellation of maternal death and safe reduction of hospital stay. Considering these information, it were done analyzes of theoretical references, projected references, area analyzes where it will be made the proposal and an architectural party. Theoretical frameworks were important to address topics about ambience, history of obstetrics and current condition of infrastructure in women's health in Tubarão city. The projected references were selected for some aspects related to the proposal’s specialty. An analysis of the area shows all aspects of the chosen terrain and its content, resulting in the progress of the party's development. ; Este trabalho tem por finalidade ser base para o futuro anteprojeto de um centro materno infantil em conjunto com o Hospital Nossa Senhora da Conceição, em Tubarão – SC, referência em gestação de alto risco. Revisando os registros em um hospital de Tubarão e região, percebe-se alto grau de nascimentos por parto cesárea, acima do indicado pela OMS. O futuro Centro Materno Infantil tem uma proposta humanizada, acolhendo e auxiliando a população para uma escolha consciente e individualizada quanto à via de nascimento adequada, diminuindo assim as taxas de internação de RN em UTI neonatal, anulação de morte materna e redução segura do tempo de permanência hospitalar.
