| الوصف: | The COVID-19 pandemic generated a set of changes that altered the ways and lifestyles of human beings around the world, to the extent that the various governments had to take drastic measures to stop its spread. Education was also affected as it had to become virtual despite serious difficulties due to technical and methodological limitations. The objective of this review of the various publications was the impact that the pandemic had on motivation and virtual education, with a view to providing the scientific community with updated information on these aspects. The databases used in this review were; Science Direct, ProQuest, Scopus and Google Scholar. From the set of articles that were located, 20 of them were chosen representing five regions: Asia, Africa, Latin America, North America and Europe. The results of this review made it possible to identify that maintaining motivation among students was a complicated task, because the abrupt change affected their state of mind. On the other hand, the difficulties of access to technology and connectivity and methodological difficulties had an impact on their academic performance. ; La pandemia de la COVID-19 generó un conjunto de cambios que alteraron las formas y estilos de vida de los seres humanos alrededor del mundo, en la medida de que los diversos gobiernos tuvieron que tomar drásticas medidas para detener su propagación. La educación también se vio afectada ya que se tuvo que transformar en virtual a pesar de las serias dificultades por las limitaciones técnicas y metodológicas que se tenían. El objetivo de esta revisión de las diversas publicaciones fue el impacto que tuvo la pandemia sobre la motivación y la educación virtual, en la perspectiva de ofrecer a la comunidad científica información actualizada sobre estos aspectos. Las bases de datos que se utilizaron en esta revisión fueron; Science Direct, ProQuest, Scopus y Google Académico.
