الوصف: A method for the theoretical estimation of the volume of oxygenated erythrocytes in small vessels in tissue, using the dynamic light scattering method for different wavelengths, has been obtained. The volume of erythrocytes in tissue can be obtained from the integrated intensity of the power spectrum of scattered light that can be expressed as a function of the optical properties of an erythrocyte. The number ratio of oxygenated erythrocytes in tissue can be obtained from a function of two integrated intensity of the power spectra for two wavelengths, an isosbestic and a nonisosbestic wavelength for oxygenated and deoxygenated erythrocytes. The theory was compared with an experimental tissue blood flow model system. The results show the possibility of measuring oxygenated blood volume and oxygenated blood flow in tissue simultaneously.
