У статті розглянуто питання, які пов’язані з гендерними особливостями мовленнєвої поведінки носіїв австралійського варіанту англійської мови. Аутентичний матеріал дослідження та проведений слуховий аналіз дозволили нам зробити висновок, що мова австралійців, чоловіків і жінок, характеризується різноманітним інтонаційним ритмом, з переваженням висхідного термінального тону, рівної шкали шкали вузького та широкого діапазону. ; В статье рассматриваются вопросы, связанные с гендерными особенностями речевого поведения носителей австралийского английского. Аутентичный материал исследования и проведенный слуховой анализ позволили нам заключить, что речь австралийцев, мужчин и женщин, характеризуется разнообразным интонационным ритмом с преобладанием восходящего терминального тона, ровной шкалы, узкого и широкого диапазона. ; The article addresses the questions regarding the gender peculiarities of the spoken method of the representatives of the Australian English. The authentic material of the investigation and the acoustic analysis led to the following: the speech of the Australians, both men and women, is characterized by different intonation rhythm with the predominance of the rising terminal tone, level scale, wide and narrow voice range.The purpose of this study is to determine what intonation means characterize the speech of men and women, the representatives of Australian English. The objectives of the study included:- to make an audit analysis and identify the intonation means differentiating the speech of Australians in gender perspective;- to describe the gender stereotypes of verbal behaviour of the representatives of Australian English. The material of the research are the monologic utterances of the speakers of Australian English. Our study leads to the conclusion that the predominant terminal tone in the speech of Australian women is a rising presented be Mid Rise and High Rise.
